The reader, adult or child, is completely involved and enters actively into the story through a series of pictures and prompts created by using different types of transparent, pierced and perforated paper. Fascinating images are created and superimposed atop one another, the bright colours of the circus are preceded and followed by the veiled dullness of Milan's fog: in this vague environment the blurred outlines of the figures become clear by leafing through the book.
